Bharat Sanchar Nigam limited (BSNL) and Indian feature phone maker; Detel Mobiles have collaborated to launch a new smartphone, Detel D1 along with bundled offers for the users. The users will now be able to get the Detel D1 smartphone with a BSNL connection at a price of Rs 499. The offer went live starting from December 23 and is available throughout India. The customers who buy the phone will get a BSNL SIM card along with it, which costs Rs 499 all total.
The phone comes bundled with BSNL Rs 153 plan which is included in Rs 499 at the time of purchase. The prepaid pack will offer the user a talktime worth Rs 103, with call rate of 15 paisa/ minute for all the BSNL to BSNL calls. The calls to any other mobile network will be charged at 40 paisa/ minute. The validity of the first recharge pack will be for 365 days. The recharge pack will also provide the users an access to personal ring back tone for a period of 28 days.
Talking about the specifications of the phone, the Detel D1 is a very basic phone that features a single SIM slot and sports a 1.44 inch monochrome display. The feature phone is powered by a 650mAh battery. The Detel D1 comes with torch light, phonebook, FM Radio, speaker and vibration mode. The phone comes with only calling and SMS benefits, unlike the Reliance Jio Phone that offers data benefits also.
Commenting on the partnership with Detel, a BSNL spokesperson said, “We are committed to providing affordable and efficient services to our customers. We aim to strengthen our reach in all the nooks and corners of the country. With this partnership, we aim to tap the untapped section who still feels that owning a phone is a luxury.”
