Sharad Pawar Admitted To Hospital And Is Expected To Undergo a Gallbladder Surgery

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar who is 80 years old is not well. He is diagnosed with a gallbladder (gallbladder stones) and is expected to be operated on March 31 at Breach Candy Hospital for the same.

Due to this, all his pre-scheduled meetings & work have been canceled. On Sunday evening, one of the well-known leaders was feeling unwell due to abdominal pain and was rushed to the hospital for a check-up. where he detected a gallbladder stone and the doctor advised him for immediate surgery.

Nawab Malik, chief spokesperson, NCP said in a statement, “Pawar was on blood-thinner medicine and discontinued it after doctors advised him. On 31 March, he will be hospitalized for endoscopy following surgery on the same day”.

As per the source, Sharad Pawar is on painkillers and taking a rest at his own Mumbai residence.

One of the party insiders said, “If he was not on blood-thinning medication, surgery could be conducted immediately. Now all the medicine has to be discontinued 48 hours before surgery. They are also likely to undergo laparoscopic surgery that will take an hour or two, but they will have to be monitored for a day or two. Later, he has to stay at home for a few more days,”.

Several big politicians and celebrities including Uddhav Thackeray, Harsh Vardhan, Lata Mangeshkar, MNS chief Raj Thackeray, and others enquired about his condition on Twitter.

On 1st March, the NCP chief took the first shot of the Covid-19 vaccine along with his daughter and Baramati MP Supriya Sule. Also, he has scheduled a three-day visit to Bengal from April 1 to campaign in West Bengal in support of Mamata Banerjee. Now it would be postponed or canceled.
